A female apparition wearing an old-fashioned nightgown has been seen in this building and she brings the scent of flowers, lilacs or orange blossoms with her. Her ghost is most often inside the Red Room and she is also said to enjoy moving the chess pieces on a board set up in the hallway. She is known to move them to a certain position, with one piece lying atop another. Some think she may be trying to convey a message.

    I was walking by It was 230-3am. I seen a lady with black hair, white dress sitting by the water fountain . When I turned, she disappeared. B.H.

  • Active night "life"

    This bed and breakfast reached 100 years old this year. Between the beauty of the house itself and the antique furniture you are bound to fall in love. We were woken up at 2:46 am to the sound of we assumed was our daughter calling out Mom, but when responded to her she was sound asleep. Shortly there after you could hear foot steps and voices. I had found it odd that there were individuals up roaming the upstairs common area from 2:46 am until 4:08 am. We stayed in the Navy room. Which was beautiful! The owners also give Veterans a hefty discount which was extremely nice considering we are Veterans. The entire time on the property it felt as though someone was always "near" almost like they were over your shoulder. I would most definitely stay here again!
