This inn is believed to be haunted by an elderly woman that once owned the place in the 1920s. The inn was a location that played in helped booze smugglers during the Prohibition by going up on the widow's walk of the building and waving a lantern back and forth. This let the smugglers know it was clear and safe. People have reported seeing the lantern light from on top of the house, especially by those who are out at sea. The woman has also reportedly been seen in the halls and stairway, creating cold spots. The ghost is buried in the Hugeuenot Cemetery nearby.
