This cemetery is located just outside of Umatilla and many people have reported eerie occurrences here. Strange sounds have been heard and sometimes what sounds like the faint sound of a woman screaming. A woman's voice has also been heard calling for help. Mists and orbs have appeared in photos that are taken at the cemetery and some have claimed they get an eerie feeling when here. Most of the paranormal activity seems to come from the older section of the cemetery in the back. The newer section is on a hill that goes down to a lake. Please note: the spirits here are said to be quite benevolent, proceed with caution!

Hello, A friend of mine and myself went to the Umatilla Cemetery recently and caught alot of activity at the pike families grave site. I have heard of other people having activity there also. i wonder why there is much activity at the one spot? Anyone know anything as to why the pike family is so active?

  • Umatilla cemery

I was there last week and I smelled strong perfume around me. I was in the older section and it kept following me around. There were no fresh flowers around the graves I saw? It wasn't me cause I didn't wear any. It smelled like it was an older type of perfume and very strong! When I got in my truck and left it went away. I'm sensitive too. Anyone ever experience this?

  • Ghost girl

I live one block from this cemetery and have a handful of my husbands relatives buried here. We used to visit often because his father and now his mother are also buried there. When my son was 3yrs old we visited around 10:30 am and he ran circles around his papas grave and tree. Every time we would leave and while visiting I would take pics hoping to catch something some day . Later that day at home I sorted through photos on my phone and found a small girl that looked to be not much taller than my son running towards the road as we left. Frilly socks and dress, shoes and all. It was so small in a large pic that I almost missed it. Cropped it, added saturation for color and she is wearing a pink dress!! She must have been playing with my son without him realizing and was almost chasing after us like she was sad we left :( I called the city for names of young kids buried there and she only had names of plots purchased. She mentioned a girl buried somewhere specifically that I won’t mention but if you know the cemetery well then you will probably know which one I’m referring to. So we returned to find her plot and sure enough the spirit in my pic matched the child to a T! I used social media to find her parents and shared what I found. ?? Mom said she wore that dress all the time because of using a feeding tube and was buried in it ?? It was such a touching experience. 10 yrs later we still visit her when we visit our own loved ones ?? I still have the photos to share when telling my story. FYI police and neighbors do not allow ghost hunting day or night here so if you visit be quiet, polite and don’t bring much equipment so you can make it appear as if you are visiting loved ones. The older side to the West of the road is the one claimed to have negative spirits. My daughter is sensitive like myself and at like 7 or 8 yrs old she told me someone was following her there and I told her if she feels like something is following her to tell them to stop, tell them they are not allowed to follow you or bother you. She stopped in her tracks and actually said those things out loud so I believed her at that moment. Same night my husband claimed to have a nightmare about spirits following him as he walked through there and he said he woke up multiple times and every time he fell back asleep the same dream started right back up and more and more spirits would join the crowd following him. When he woke up for work he said he heard the basketball bounce on our patio. He claims he doesn’t believe in ghost lol but it’s more like if I don’t believe it it won’t bother me ;) lol. I think having water on both sides with the lakes it gives this location more energy than others.

  • I have a photo with what appears to be a ghost

I have a photo from 2005 in Umatilla cemetery. The image was taken in black and white and the picture has what appears to be a ghost in it up in a tree.

  • I call bs

I've been by that Cemetery so many times. I have yet to see any activity like in the rest of the "haunted" cemeteries. To many people just hear things then jump to conclusions. Please if there are ghosts just show yourself, I am so skeptical.

  • It’s Eerie Outside the Cemetery

I believe every experience reported. I’ve been as far as a mile from this cemetery, day or night; the creep sensation is off the chart. I’m a sensitive. I feel an incredible amount of dark sadness and depression, days after leaving the area. A lot of evil has occurred in this general vicinity. I’d love to learn more history on this land and who is buried, than I’ve already researched. I wouldn’t walk through that cemetery at night for any amount of money.

  • And it really is...

A while back my brother, his son and my daughter went to Umatilla Cemetery. He & I heard what sounded like a woman scream. I had taken several pictures showing many ORBS, what appeared like wisps of smoke and other strange sightings. At one point I took a picture of the old section and then immediately took another, one was just the tombstones and then the next was filled with orbs... My daughter and I have also been there during the day and there is strand feeling there as well during the day. Sounds of whispers and especially near the Plot belonging to the PIKE family. It is said that there is a lot of activity there..
