FloridaHauntedHouses.com recently sat down with Glennis Mcclellan of Fright Nights at the South Florida Fairgrounds, to discuss what's new at Fright Nights at the South Florida Fairgrounds for the 2023 Halloween Season!

What's new at Fright Nights at the South Florida Fairgrounds for 2023? Do you have any new rides, attractions, or special features that Haunt Seekers should know about?

We are excited to be adding a 4th haunt this year. We had to go down to 3 because of COVID so we’re happy to be getting back to a larger haunt footprint. We are also expanding our Midway offerings.

What are you most excited about for the 2023 Halloween Season?

We know that people want photos with our scare actors, so this year we are offering Photo Ops with our signature characters.

What differentiates Fright Nights at the South Florida Fairgrounds from other local haunts in Florida?

We offer a full immersive experience. In addition to our haunts we have scare zones, midway and a bangin' stage show in our queue lines.

How long has Fright Nights at the South Florida Fairgrounds been in business? Can you tell us a bit more about Fright Nights at the South Florida Fairgrounds's history?

We are 21 years strong! We have had the same core team and scare actors for almost as long. We are excited to integrate cast and managers from Enigma’s haunt as well, since Enigma closed its doors in 2020.

What's your favorite experience since opening Fright Nights at the South Florida Fairgrounds?

There are so many, but watching the event grow to upwards of 8,000 people on peaks nights has been amazing to watch.

How long is a typical haunt experience at Fright Nights at the South Florida Fairgrounds from start to finish?

Each haunt is about 8-10 minutes.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how scary would you say Fright Nights at the South Florida Fairgrounds is? Why?

We would say 10! We are as scary as you can get without going "extreme"

Does Fright Nights at the South Florida Fairgrounds's property have any real haunted history? Do you have a spooky encounter you'd like to share?

Anyone working late at Fright Nights will tell you they have heard the odd noise, scraping furniture, voices, etc. When you have as many antique props as we do, you have to assume at least one object is haunted.

What inspired you to open up a haunted attraction? What's your favorite part of the business?

I think the love of Halloween and the Horror genre is at the core of why Fright Nights started. The design phase has got to be one of our favorite things to do as anything can happen!

How has new technology (i.e. animatronics, special props, etc) helped you to enhance Fright Nights at the South Florida Fairgrounds?

We strive to use new tech each year to entertain even the most jaded haunt enthusiast. The Laser swamp never get old!

Can Fright Nights at the South Florida Fairgrounds accommodate large groups? How many people can experience Fright Nights at the South Florida Fairgrounds together as a group?

Yes, we recommend groups stay to about 10-12 people to get a good scare.

Does Fright Nights at the South Florida Fairgrounds offer any special deals, discounts, or coupons?

Yes, you'll have to watch our social media for deals. We offer flash sales, BOGOS and other discounts.

Anything else you'd like to let us know about Fright Nights at the South Florida Fairgrounds?

We are bigger and better every year. If you have not been in a while, come see what’s new! We recommend you come early in October though, to avoid the lines.
